About Go Jauntly
Go Jauntly is a multi-award-winning walking and wellbeing app on a mission to get more people walking, connecting with nature and improving the health and wellbeing of people and planet. We’re a small, close-knit team working with local authorities, public sector bodies, charities, businesses, brands and communities across the UK and we’re growing.
This is a genuinely unique role in a mission-led startup. Your work will have real, visible impact from day one and there is authentic room to grow with the business as it scales.
The Role
We're looking for a Community Manager who loves people and thrives on building relationships and someone just as comfortable on a call with a local authority stakeholder as they are engaging and replying to walkers - on social media - in our app community.
This is a hybrid role. Half your world will be stakeholder engagement, nurturing and growing our partnerships with public sector organisations, local authorities and corporate clients. The other half is using social media and our online channels to engage, connect and grow our app community.
You'll work closely with the co-founder and a collaborative team spanning design, tech, marketing and partnerships across partner communications, content, events, admin and everything in between. This role is broad and varied and we need someone who shows up for all of it reliably and enthusiastically.
The right person will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the business grows. We're a small team and strong contributors and problem-solvers get noticed and rewarded.
A background or genuine interest in marketing, social media, partnerships, community management, events, tech, product, environment, active travel or public health would be a great fit. It’s okay if some aspects of the role are new to you as long as you’re eager and willing to learn. This role would suit you if you have a “T-shaped” skillset e.g. a core strength in one discipline but have complementary, transferable or additional skills in other areas.
What You’ll Be Doing
Community & Marketing
Championing, managing and growing the Go Jauntly community across social media e.g. responding to comments, messages and queries in a timely, warm and on-brand way.
Creating engaging content (text, image and short video) for our social channels, newsletter and app.
Keeping a keen eye on social media trends and platform developments, experimenting with new formats and ideas to grow our reach and keep our content fresh.
Encouraging, curating and repurposing user-generated content from our community of walkers to bring authenticity to our channels.
Owning and maintaining a content calendar across social, email and app to keep our output planned, consistent and on-brand.
Supporting the planning and execution of new walking routes, marketing campaigns, walking challenges and community initiatives.
Tracking community engagement metrics and reporting on what’s working, flagging opportunities and improvements.
Writing and sending the Go Jauntly newsletter, including planning content, building the email and tracking performance.
Uploading and updating content on the Go Jauntly website and coordinating with the team on larger updates to keep the site current, accurate and on-brand.
Coordinating and helping to deliver occasional Go Jauntly events e.g. community walks and partner launches to funded programme activities.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement (Business, Third Sector & Government)
Managing day-to-day relationships with existing partners including local authorities, public sector bodies and corporate clients. Ensuring communications are proactive and professional.
Supporting the delivery of funded programmes and partnership projects: scheduling, briefing partners, tracking actions and keeping documentation current.
Assisting with new partnership activity: researching prospects, preparing materials, joining and following up on sales conversations.
Helping create and upload walks on the Go Jauntly app; supporting on-the-ground content capture when needed.
Representing Go Jauntly at partner meetings, trade events, community walks and public-facing events (some weekend events, always planned well in advance).
Tracking and reporting on performance against agreed KPIs across partnership activities and sharing regular updates with the team.
The Ideal Teammate
We’re not necessarily looking for someone with a perfectly matching CV, we’re looking for someone with the right character and lots of enthusiasm. Here’s what matters most to us:
You’re reliable. People can count on you. You do what you say you’ll do and follow through without needing to be chased.
You’re a genuine self-starter. You spot what needs doing and get on with it. You don’t wait to be told.
You bring real enthusiasm for the mission, for the work and for the people around you. That energy matters in a small team.
You’re flexible and adaptable. Startups are unpredictable. You’re happy to flex across tasks, try new things and pitch in wherever you’re needed.
You love people. Whether that’s a local authority partner, a corporate client or a walker sharing their Sunday morning stroll.
You’re organised and on top of your work. Documents, trackers and communications are always tidy, up to date and easy to read.
You’re comfortable on camera and in a room. Presenting, hosting walks or speaking at events doesn’t faze you.
You’re happy to travel across the UK at reasonable notice and occasionally represent the team at weekend events.
You’re tech-savvy and comfortable with all the big social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok .etc), Google Suite, Canva, Trello and Slack (or a fast learner with new tools).
You have strong written and verbal communication skills e.g. professional when it counts, warm and human everywhere else.
You're passionate about walking, wellbeing and nature connection.
