RED January 31 day walking challenge to boost wellbeing
Here at Go Jauntly HQ, we LOVE a festive stroll - and it seems that plenty of others do too. It is always amazing to see all of the people out strolling in parks and in the countryside on Boxing Day and New Years Day. But we know that once the holidays are over and January rolls around, that post-Christmas slump can start to creep in and it can be difficult to find the time or motivation to get outside.
So this year, we’re challenging ourselves to get active every day for RED January. It’s a community initiative that’s helping people support their mental wellbeing through physical activity. The idea is to get active every day in January, your way. Whether you walk, run, swim, cycle, set your goal and enjoy support from the RED community every step, splash and pedal of the way.
Whether it’s a 10-minute jaunt around the block or an epic 2 hour hike, just a little movement and fresh air every day can be all it takes to boost our mood. To inspire you, Go Jauntly and RED Together have created a calendar featuring a different incredible walking route each day. Just register for RED January here, and click on the Active Inspiration link to access the downloadable calendar. You can also find the full list of recommended walks below. To find even more walking routes near you or further afield, download the Go Jauntly app for iOS or Android.
