The Commonwealth Walkway
The Commonwealth Walkway Initiative, supported by Her Majesty The Queen, is working to connect the Commonwealth with a 1,000 km walkable path providing a practical opportunity for a third of the world’s population to be more active.
Go Jauntly worked with the Commonwealth Walkway team to improve their existing website, updating the design and introducing new map functionality so that visitors could see their route mapped in advance with the points of interest along the way. Visitors are encouraged to contribute their own descriptions and images of the sites on each walk, allowing for crowd-sourced content so that the map improves over time.
100 Walk Commonwealth Challenge
In order to encourage participation from people all over the world, we have worked together to introduce a walking challenge.
Participants can commit to walking 100 commonwealth routes, either in person or by walking the equivalent distance. As they do they unlock stamps and medals and can track their progress on their profile. We designed and built the new functionality on the live site.
