The Illuminated River artwork is now complete and officially switched on. To celebrate this momentous occasion we’ve teamed up with the team at Illuminated River to create a new FREE audio-walk tour on our app. Allowing you to discover the bridges by day and night in all their glory.

But what is the Illuminated River?

The Illuminated River is a subtly moving light-based installation by New York-based artist Leo Villareal and award-winning London architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. Together they have transformed the River Thames at night. Extending across nine Thames bridges, beginning at London Bridge in the east and Lambeth Bridge in the west, the Illuminated River is now the longest public art commission in the world at a whopping 3.2 miles.

It’s a spectacular new cultural experience, which is free and accessible for all. And to get the word out and make it even easier to orientate yourself, we’ve created a special Illuminated River audio-walk on the Go Jauntly app.

The walk contains audio stops at the London bridges and other key sites along the way. It’s also step-free to make it accessible as possible to everyone. The Illuminated River artwork is on display every evening from dusk until 2am. But if your plans don’t extend to these times, our walk will also share fantastic professional photographs of each bridge, with the artist's vision too. On top of this the audio narration highlights notable history, architecture and the artist’s vision for the new work. You can listen in via your headphones or read the transcripts. You could even enjoy the walk as part of a virtual tour if you’re not able to visit London right now.

All you need to do is make sure you’ve downloaded the app and head to this link to find the walk. Save it for later or hop to it and get walking.

Don’t forget to tag us in your photos and let us know how you find the walk! We hope you love it as much as we do.
